Careful control of the manufacturing process and that little bit of Muntons know-how ensures that each of our Premium Gold Beer kits contain all the necessary ingredients to produce truly remarkable beers. We begin by carefully selecting and malting the best English 2-row barley. Great care is taken when making our extract to ensure we retain all the malt flavour and character.
To this we add a unique blend of brewing hops specially supplied by England's most renown hop growers. To guarantee consistent brewing our Premium Gold beer kits contain our very own gold yeast - a brewers grade yeasmt with superior ale making characteristics and good crusting properties to brew crystal clear beer. Once you have experienced the satisfying taste of Muntons Premium Gold, nothing else will do. All of the Muntons Premium Gold beer kits produce 40 UK pints (6 US gallons), 23 litres of highly distinctive ales all with an approximate abv of 5%.
About Muntons Premium Gold - Old Conkerwood Black Ale
Old Conkerwood is a distinctive black-coloured beer with an aromatic yet hoppy character. Not quite a porter or a stout, Old Conkerwood, with your eyes closed, drinks like an ale; an underlying dry bitterness provided by the use of specially selected coloured malt pleases the palate and encourages the drinker to appreciate this Conker coloured ale.

Geordie Lager
Home Brew Concentrate - Makes 40 Pints
Geordie Lager is a light, refreshing beer with a tangy continental taste. Made from natural ingredients: malt, hops and barley. It's sparkling and light gold in colour, ideally served straight from the fridge. It is satisfying to drink and equally satisfying to make.
Geordie Liquid Kits are the simplest way to brew. The wort has already been brewed from malted barley and hops, concentrated and canned. All you need to do is mix it with water, sugar OR beer kit enhancer and add the yeast. Once fermentation is complete (approx. 7 days) transfer to bottles/ barrel, wait 10 days and drink!

Irish Moss for Home Brewing / Beer Making 30g
Irish Moss (Chondrus Crispus) is boiled with the wart to attract proteins and other solids which is then removed from the beer to aid clarification.
Irish Moss is often added at the same time as any flavouring hops and helps prevent protein haze.
Directions for use:
Add 1 tsp during the last 15 mins of the boil to help clear your beer.

Washing bottles can be a long and tedious process. The Bottle Rinser is an easy to use device which can save you time, water and therefore money! Simply fill the plastic bowl with water/ sterilising solution, place bottle neck on the plunger and give 2 - 3 squirts of water/ solution.

Thomas Coopers IPA (India Pale Ale) produces a beer with all the hallmarks of a genuine IPA from the mother land. A strong ale with robust malt characters and very high hopping levels. Intended to be mixed with 500g Coopers Light Dry Malt and 300g Coopers Dextrose (500g of Light Spraymalt and 300g Brewing Sugar).

Brupaks Birkby Bitter
Home Brew Concentrate - Makes 40 Pints
These are more than just beer kits they are Concentrated Brewers Worts. Production follows traditional brewhouse procedures using only the finest quality 2-row malting barley and the choicest English hops. The grist (crushed malt) is 'mashed' with water at 65C for about one hour to convert the starches into sugar. The resultant liquid (wort) is strained off into a boiling vessel where hops are added for bitterness. After boiling, extra hops are added for flavour and aroma.
In a commercial brewery the wort would be cooled rapidly to around 20C, then transferred to a fermentation vessel where it is transformed into beer. As our worts are to be fermented at home, they first need to be reduced to a convenient size for the home beermaker to carry. To achieve this, the excess liquid is evaporated under vacuum, at low temperatures to preserve the delicate flavours, then pasteurised and canned. To continue the brewing process at home, all that is necessary is to dilute the concentrated wort back to its original density and ferment! Extra hops are included to restore aroma lost during production.
Included in the box are some advanced instructions for those who like to experiment. Subtle flavour differences can be achieved by adopting a few advanced techniques e.g. bitterness adjustment, sweetness, colour etc.
