In the beautiful Trent Valley, beside the tumbling river, the John Thompson Inn conveys the atmosphere of bygone years - and, like the publicans of old, John Thompson is the actual brewer as well as the landlord.
Surrounded by terraced lawns and colourful borders, it is no wonder that they have been awarded the highest accolade of 'Pub of the Year'.
As a family, we've lived here for generations, at the heart of the British brewing industry. I've been brewing my own traditional beer for many years, and John Thompsons Strong Bitter has the finest reputation, and taste, for miles around. Now, the brew that's made my name famous is available to you, the discerning home brewer who knows real beer.

Solomon Grundy Gold - Piesporter Wine (7 day kit)
Makes 22.5L (30 Bottles equivalent) of Piesporter Wine in just 7 days!
Start on Monday Drink on Sunday! Sterilize kit, mix ingredients (inc 3kg sugar) and begin fermentation on Monday, 3 4 days later add finings & wine compound to clear the wine, add sugar (180gm), bottle and drink after 7 days.
This Solomon Grundy Gold kit has all the ingredients to make Piesporter Wine in just 7 days, just add water and sugar (3.180kg)!

The cap fits most barrels with a 2 neck to enable the injection of gas using a SodaStream style CO2 Cylinder.

Not quite a porter or a stout, Old Conkerwood, with your eyes closed, drinks like an ale; an underlying dry bitterness provided by the use of specially selected coloured malt pleases the palate and encourages the drinker to appreciate this Conker coloured ale.

This sturdy brew bin is made from food grade plastic and is ideal for brewing our beer kits. It has a capacity of 25 litres, making it suitable for a 40 pint home brew beer kit.
The bin is supplied ready to use, complete with a lid and tap. The lid is bored and has a grommet to accommodate an airlock. The outside of this home brew bin features useful capacity markings.
The bin features quality materials and construction and a carry handle for ease of use. Stands 39cm high.
